| Upload Digital Photos - Overview |
|
There are several easy ways to add the photos stored on your computer to your Photo Center account, including photos stored on a camera or flash memory card attached to your computer.
- Install the QuickUpload QuickUpload tool in your browser to add multiple photos to your account at one time.
- If you prefer not to install the QuickUpload tool, you can select photos one at a time.
- You can also send us your pictures from your mobile phone, PDA or by email and then add them to your account.
Uploading Files on a PC
Uploading Files on a Mac
There is no charge for uploading your photos with these methods. (If you are sending photos by phone or PDA, your service provider may charge airtime or data charges.)
If you don't have access to the Internet, you may bring a memory card or photo CD to the Photo Center in your local Walmart and upload your photos for a fee.
Please note: There is no charge to store or share your uploaded photos, and no limit to the number of digital photos you can upload. High-resolution versions of your photos are stored for 90 days, and then they are reduced to a medium resolution, which is still suitable for 4 x 6, 5 x 7, and wallet-size prints, as well as many photo gifts and products

Please note: Whenever you upload a digital photo to your online account, only a copy of it is placed in your account. The original digital photo file remains unchanged on your computer.

| Estimated Time to Upload Photos |
|
|
The speed of your upload depends on the speed of your Internet connection.
If you have a 56k modem, it will take approximately 2 minutes to upload a 500k digital photo file. The faster your Internet connection, the less time it will take to upload your photos.
When you use QuickUpload, we'll indicate how long the upload will take for both a 56k modem and a standard DSL/Cable modem connection.
|
|
| Supported File Types |
|
|
When you upload photos, you can upload the following types of digital photos:
- JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe)
- BMP (.bmp) (BMP not supported for Mac uploads)
- Zip file (containing JPEGS only) (Zip not supported with QuickUpload from a Mac)
Any digital photo you upload must have an ending that matches one of the above file types (e.g., niagarafalls.jpg).
Whichever type of file you use, the copy you upload will be converted to JPEG format before it's added to your account.
