A group room is a unique web page where you -- and your friends and family -- can add and view photos and projects. You can also order prints and read and write messages.
Any member of a group can add photos and projects to the room, view all of the photos and projects that have been added, and read and write messages on the group message board. However, only the creator of the group can remove albums, projects and messages other members have added.
You can become a part of a group room in two ways:
- Create a group room and invite others to join your room
- Receive and accept an invitation to join a group room created by someone else
Group Room Privacy
You can protect the privacy of your group room with the use of a password.
When you create a group room, you'll be given the opportunity to create a password. Only visitors who know the password will be able to access your group room.
If you do not use a password to protect your group room, anyone who knows the URL (the web address) of your group room will be able to access it.

Create a Group Room
Create a group room where you -- and your friends and family -- can add and view photos and projects. You can also order prints and read and write messages.
- On your account's home page, click the orange Create a Group Room button.
- On the next page, write a title and description of your group room in the text fields provided.
- Choose a theme by clicking on one in the strip near the bottom of the page. (You can see additional themes by rolling over the blue arrow to the right.)
- Click Continue
- On the next page, choose a name for the room (e.g., thejohnsonfamily), and type it into the yellow text field.
- For added privacy, you can make your group room password-protected. Insert a password in the text field provided.
Please note: If you elect not to protect your room with a password, then anyone who knows the URL of the room can join.
- From the drop-down menu provided, choose how frequently you would like group members to receive updates when new projects or photos are added.
- Click Create Group.
Invite Friends and Family to Join Your Group
You can invite other people to join your group by emailed invitation.
Sending an Invitation by email:
- From the group page, click "Invite" in the menu on the upper right side of the page.
- It opens a form that will helps you create your email invitation.
- In the "To" field, type the email addresses of the people you want to invite; separate email addresses with commas or line breaks. To use addresses from your address book, click the "Address Book" link below the field.
View Group Members
The creator of a group room can view the list of members at any time.
- From the group page, click "View" in the menu to the right.
- Select "View All Members" from the list that opens up below "View" to open a pop-up window listing the group's members.
- Invite additional people to become members by clicking on the link within the pop-up window.
- Click Close to return to the group page.
Remove Albums or Projects
The creator of a group room can remove any album or project in the room.
Please note: When you remove an album or project from a group room, it is not deleted from the original account. A copy of it still remains in the owner's photo library.
- From the group page, click "Remove" in the menu to the right.
- Click "Albums" or "Projects" in the menu that opens below Remove.
- Click each album or project that you would like to remove from the room.
- Click Remove from Room.
- In the confirmation window, click Remove to confirm removal of the albums or projects you have selected.
Remove Messages
The creator of a group room can remove any messages that have been posted to the room.
- From the group page, click "Remove" in the menu to the right.
- Click "Messages" in the menu that opens below "Remove."
- Click the box next to each message you would like to remove.
- Click Remove These Messages.
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.
Remove Members
The creator of a group room can remove any member from that group at any time.
- From the group page, click "Remove" in the menu to the right.
- Click each member you would like to remove.
- Click "Remove These Members."
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.
Please Note: When you remove a member from a group room, the member's albums and projects will also be removed from the room.
Edit Group Room Settings (Group)
The creator of a group can edit the group's settings, which include the group's title, description, password, cover photo, theme and alert frequency. You can also delete the entire room.
- From the group page, click "Edit Room Info" under the group room description at the middle of the page.
- On the next page, change the title, password or description of the group by editing information in the fields provided.
- Change the main photo or the theme by selecting a new one from the options provided.
- Change the frequency of alerts by using the drop-down menu, or delete the entire room by clicking "Delete Room."
- When you are satisfied with the change, click Update Info at the bottom of the page.
Edit Group Room Settings (Personal)
The creator of a group can set the notification settings for the group room.
- From the group page, click "Edit Personal Settings" under the group room description at the middle of the page.
- On the next page, set your personal notification preferences for the current group. Use the drop-down menus to select how often you would like to be notified about group room updates.
- By checking or un-checking the box, you can choose to whether to receive notification whenever a new message is posted to the room.
- When you are satisfied with your settings, click Update Info.
Delete a Group Room
Only the creator of a group can delete the room. Once a room has been deleted, all albums, projects and messages contained there will be deleted. However, they will remain in their original locations in the accounts of the people who added them.
- From the group page, click "Edit Room Info" under the group room description at the middle of the page.
- On the next page, click "Delete Room" near the bottom of the page. (You may have to scroll down.)
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.

Join a Group Room
You can only join a group room if you have an invitation or if you have been given the group room's web address (URL).
- Navigate to the group's URL. If you have received an email invitation to join, accept the invitation by clicking "Join Group Room" in the invitation.
- If the room is password-protected, you will need to enter the password.
- If you do not already have a Walmart Digital Photo Center account, you will be asked to create one. Follow the onscreen instructions to create your free account. If you already have an account, you will be asked to sign in.
- As soon as you enter the room, you'll be added as a member. Once you have joined the group room, you can add albums and projects, post messages, order prints and more!
Add Albums to a Group Room
Any member of a group room can add photo albums to the room.
- From the group page, click "Add" in the menu at the top right of the page, and then click the "Albums" link.
- On the next page, click the albums you'd like to add to the room. (To navigate through your albums, use the menu at the left side of the page.) When you have selected the albums you'd like to add, click the orange Add to Room button.
- You will be taken back to the group page, where your albums will now be shown. (You may have to scroll down to see them.)
Add Projects to a Group Room
Any member of a group room can add projects to the room.
- From the group page, click "Add" in the menu at the top right of the page, and then click the "Projects" link
- On the next page, click the albums you'd like to add to the room. (To navigate through your albums, use the menu at the left side of the page.)
- When you have selected the albums you'd like to add, click the orange Add to Room button.
- You will be taken back to the group page, where your projects will now be shown. (You may have to scroll down to see them.)
Write a Message to Group Members
Any member of a group room can write messages to the other group members.
- From the group page, click the "Write a Message" link near the center of the page under the Messages heading.
Please note: If you're the first person to write a message in your group, the link will say "Be the First to Write a Message!"
- On the following page, write a title and your message in the fields provided.
- To add a photo to your message, click "Choose Photo" to the right.
- You can edit or remove your message, or change the photo by clicking the links on the right side of the page.
- When you are satisfied with your message, click Add Message.
- To cancel your message and return to the group page, click Back to Group at the bottom of the page.
Remove Albums or Projects
As a group member, you can only remove the albums and projects you add. You cannot remove albums or projects other members have added.
Please note: When you remove an album or project from a group room, you do not delete it from your Photo Center account. A copy of it still remains in your photo library.
- From the group page, click "Remove" in the menu to the right.
- Click "Albums" or "Projects" in the menu that opens below "Remove."
- Click each album or project you would like to remove from the room, and then click Remove from Room.
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.
Remove Messages
As a group member, you can remove any messages you post. You cannot, however, remove messages other members have posted.
- From the group page, click "Remove" in the menu to the right.
- Click "Messages" in the menu that opens below "Remove."
- Click the box next to each message you would like to remove.
- Click Remove These Messages.
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.

Choose your personal notification settings for each group room.
- From the group page, click the "Edit Personal Settings" link under the group room description at the middle of the page.
- On the next page, you can set your personal notification preferences for that particular group. Use the drop-down menus to select how often you would like to be notified about group room updates.
- By checking or un-checking the box, you can choose to receive notification whenever a new message is posted to the room.
- You can also choose to remove yourself from the group. See below for step-by-step instructions on how to remove yourself from a group.
- When you are satisfied with your settings, click Update Info.
Remove Yourself from a Group Room
If you no longer wish to be a member of a group room, you can remove yourself from that room.
- From the group page, click the "Edit Personal Settings" link under the group room description at the middle of the page.
- On the next page, click "Remove Me."
- In the confirmation window, click Remove.
Please note: When you leave a group room, the albums and projects you placed in the room will be erased from the room, and the remaining group room members will no longer have access to them. All albums and projects you added to a group room will remain in your personal account.
